1903 Marr Auto Car

Walter Lorenzo Marr, future Chief Engineer for Buick, designed and built the Marr Auto Car in 1902 and went on sale in 1903.  This is the only known survivor.


The Ford Museum bought the car in 1935 and held it for 50 years.  The museum sold the car 1n 1985 and it was bought into our family in 1999 by my father.

Coming Car Show Events

The Marr Auto Car is scheduled to show at the Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance in February 2019.

Marr Car's Show History

Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance

The car has shown twice at the Amelia Concours.  In 2000 the Marr Car won the Fashion Award and was shown by Bill and  Sarah Close.  In 2015 the car won Best of Class.

Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance

The Marr Auto Car has shown in 2000, 2005, and 2015.  The car has won Best of Class each time and has been shown by Bill and Sarah Close as well as Barton and Cindy Close.

Meadow Brooke Concours d'Elegance

The Marr Auto Car won Best of Class at Meadow Brook's Concours d'Elegance before the show moved to St. Johns.  The car was shown by Bill and Sarah Close.

Cincinnati Concours d'Elegance

The car was shown at Ault Park by Bill and Sarah Close.

Keenland Concours d'Elegance

Bill and Barton Close showed the Marr Auto Car at Keenland in 2007 and it won Best of Class.

The Old Car Fest

The Marr Auto Car has shown in 2016 and 2018 at The Henry Ford's Old Car Fest and was judged in 2018 and won 1st place in the  "1908 and Older" category.

This is the first mass produced Buick and only came in the color white.

1931 Buick Model 56C

Facts about the 1931 Model 56C

1931 Buicks were the first to offer the straight 8 cylinder powered cars.  The 56C is the smallest of three models and has the smaller 8 cylinder.

Buick 1953 Skylark

Buick's 50th Anniversary Car, Buick Skylark

The Buick Skylark was created for 1953 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Buick.  The car was only made on the Roadmaster body.  Their were 1,690 cars made.


Buick exported 57 left hand drive versions of the car.

1915 Buick ProType

One of two 1915 12 cylinder Buick ProTypes built.

Walter L. Marr, Chief Engineer for Buick, designed this V12 prototype which Buick chose not to put into production. My cousin, Paul Marr, 


Two cars were made. The other car went to Walter Chrysler who ran the factory at Buick before he started his own car company.  His prototype is believed to have been turned back in and destroyed.
